About the Speaker

Mr. Rana Gurtej Singh is a distinguished legal professional who earned his B.A. LL.B. (Honors) degree from the prestigious Panjab University, Chandigarh. Following his graduation, he enrolled as an advocate with the State Bar Council and began his legal career with a strong academic foundation and a commitment to the rule of law. Since then, he has cultivated a reputation for diligence, integrity, and legal acumen, building a career that reflects his deep understanding of the Indian legal system.

Mr. Singh’s practice is primarily centered around the Punjab and Haryana High Court at Chandigarh, where he actively appears in a wide range of cases spanning multiple branches of law. Over the years, he has also gained substantial experience before various tribunals and quasi-judicial bodies, with a specialized focus on cases under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA). His extensive involvement in real estate litigation—representing both homebuyers and real estate developers—has allowed him to develop nuanced expertise in this evolving area of law, particularly in handling complex disputes at both trial and appellate stages.

Beyond his specialization in consumer and real estate laws, Mr. Singh’s practice encompasses a broad array of legal domains, including Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Taxation, and Corporate Law. His ability to navigate such diverse legal challenges is a testament to his comprehensive legal understanding. His expertise in tax law was recently recognized by the Government of India with his appointment as Junior Standing Counsel for the Income Tax Department, where he represents the department in matters before the Punjab and Haryana High Court. With his expanding portfolio and commitment to legal excellence, Mr. Singh continues to be a valuable contributor to the Indian legal fraternity.
