About the Opportunity

Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has invited applications for engagement of interns from law colleges across the country under its Short Term Internship Programme (2 Months).

The internship aims to provide meaningful learning opportunities while enabling students to gain exposure to consumer protection laws, unfair trade practices, and regulatory mechanisms.


About CCPA

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has been established under Section 10 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 to:

  • Regulate matters relating to violation of consumer rights
  • Address unfair trade practices
  • Prevent false or misleading advertisements
  • Protect and enforce consumer rights as a class

Eligibility Criteria

Students fulfilling the following criteria are eligible to apply:

  • Students studying in the 4th or 5th year of the integrated 5-year law programme
  • Students studying in the 3rd/final year of the 3-year law programme
  • Minimum 60% marks (6 CGPA) consistently in:
    • Class XII
    • All semesters of 3-year law programme
    • All semesters of integrated 5-year law programme

Internship Exposure

Selected interns may gain exposure to:

  • Consumer Protection Law
  • Regulatory research
  • Policy analysis
  • Consumer rights framework
  • Research projects and assignments

Students may also strengthen their applications by mentioning:

  • Moot Courts
  • Internships
  • Research projects
  • Co-curricular activities in their Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Important Requirements

Applicants are required to submit:

  • A 300-word Statement of Purpose (SOP)
  • Self-attested scanned copies of mark sheets from Class XII onwards
  • Letter of Recommendation (LOR) from concerned HOD/Dean/Principal

Important Conditions

  • Internship is full-time in nature
  • Attendance in all sessions is mandatory
  • Leave applications shall not be entertained
  • Applications through email/post will not be accepted
  • Incomplete applications are liable to be rejected

Selection & Certification

  • Final list of selected interns will be displayed on CCPA’s website
  • Interns successfully completing the programme shall receive a Certificate of Participation based on punctuality, discipline, participation, and timely submission of projects
