
Saveetha School of Law is organizing the 5th Jus Amicus National Moot Court Competition 2024 in Chennai from February 1 to 3, 2024, and is seeking registrations for the same.

About the Competition
Saveetha School of Law is conducting the prestigious 5th Jus Amicus National Moot Court Competition. Jus Amicus National Moot Court Competition intends to set the right path to reach out to the future needs of legal aspirants to recognize their talent and help them improve their skills of drafting and booting.
After successfully conducting the four editions of the Jus Amicus National Moot Court Competition, the Management is very glad and excited for the 5th edition of the Jus Amicus National Moot Court Competition, from February 1st – 3rd, 2024. This year’s problem is based upon the Constitutional Law.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Competition is open to students currently enrolled in LL.B. Degree Courses (3 years/5 years) recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- A team cannot have members from more than one institution.
- The maximum number of teams to participate in the first round from an institution shall not exceed 3 teams.
Moot Structure
The Competition shall comprise of two stages:
Stage I: Memorial Elimination Rounds: This shall be open to all teams that register for the competition. The results of this round shall be based on the evaluation of memorials and shall determine the 30 teams that will proceed to Stage II.
Stage II: Oral Rounds: The teams that qualify for Stage I shall be eligible to participate in the Oral Rounds, which shall comprise Preliminary Rounds and Advanced Rounds viz. Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals.
Awards & Prizes
- Winning Team Award: Certificate, trophy, and a cash prize of INR 50,000.
- Runners-Up Team Award: Certificate, trophy, and a cash prize of INR 25,000.
- Best Speaker Award: Certificate, trophy, and a cash prize of INR 10,000.
- Best Memorandum Award: Certificate, trophy, and a cash prize of INR 10,000.
- Best Researcher Award: Certificate, trophy, and a cash prize of INR 10,000.
- All participating teams will be provided with a certificate of participation or a certificate of merit in accordance with the performance of the team.
Registration Process
- Teams must register through the link given at the end of this post.
- The teams have to choose a primary contact person, alternatively called a ‘Point of Contact’ (“POC”). All communications concerning the Competition will be sent by e-mail to the nominated contact person.
- The nominated contact person shall convey all the information to the team. The teams must also mention the e-mail of either the respective committee or the head/dean of the institution in the Registration Form.
- After submission of the Registration Form, a mail confirming the provisional registration will be sent to the respective committee or head/dean of the institution.
Registration Fees
- The Registration Fee is INR 4000 per team. Registration Fee is mandatory for all teams.
- The teams will be provided with a 1-month subscription to SCC Online for the preparation.
- The Accommodation Fee is INR 2,000 per team. Accommodation Fee is mandatory for the teams that take part in the Oral Rounds of the Competition which would include food, stay at the resort, and travel from the resort to college for 3 days.
Note: The local teams (From Chennai only) can contact the coordinators with respect to the Accommodation.
