About the Speaker
Rupali Sharma is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in Law at Bahra College of Law, Patiala, affiliated with Punjabi University, Patiala. Alongside her academic role, she is actively pursuing her Ph.D. in Law from Punjabi University, Patiala, showcasing her dedication to continuous learning and specialization in her field. Recently, she was honored to be selected as a delegate for the prestigious China-India Youth Dialogue 2025, held on 25th February 2025, co-hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in India and the Confederation of Young Leaders in India. This recognition reflects her commitment to fostering international dialogue and collaboration on youth leadership and legal education.
Rupali’s primary areas of academic interest include Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, and Human Rights. Her research journey has been extensive, with significant contributions in diverse areas such as victim support strategies, data privacy, and family violence. She has published three research papers and authored one book chapter, demonstrating her active involvement in legal scholarship. Her passion for enhancing her expertise is evident through her completion of specialized certifications, including a Certificate Course in Questioned Documents and Fingerprint Analysis and a Certification in Sustainable Development Goals 2030 and the Indian Constitution. These achievements highlight her commitment to advancing her knowledge and broadening her skill set in key legal domains.
In addition to her teaching and research pursuits, Rupali has played an active role in community service and social welfare. She has volunteered with two prominent NGOs — the Patiala Foundation, recognized for its consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN-ECOSOC), and Har Hath Kalam, a notable organization dedicated to empowering underprivileged communities. Beyond her volunteer work, Rupali has participated in several legal awareness programs, presented research papers at numerous national and international conferences, and attended various workshops and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) to enhance her academic and professional growth. Her extensive involvement reflects her dedication to promoting legal education, social justice, and community engagement.
