The session will be conducted by Shri Srinivasan Gopal, Retired Assistant Director, NACIN, Eminent Faculty (declared by DG, NACIN), authoritative NDPS Act author, and an expert in Narcotics Law Enforcement who has trained officers from over 40 countries. About the Speaker

Shri Srinivasan Gopal (IRS Retd.) is a distinguished former Assistant Director of the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN) and a globally recognized expert in Narcotics Law Enforcement. With decades of experience in customs, narcotics enforcement, and legal training, he has made significant contributions to the interpretation, implementation, and advancement of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985. His exceptional expertise has earned him the distinction of being declared an Eminent Faculty by the Director General, NACIN in 2025.

Shri Gopal is the author of four authoritative books on the NDPS Act, including NDPS Commentary (Taxmann), Centre of Excellence Publication (NACIN), Decoding the NDPS Act (Lawmann), and the Investigation Manual on the NDPS Act (National Police Academy, Hyderabad). He has also drafted the Delhi Air Customs Manual, contributed to CBIC’s first Indian Customs Traveller Guide App, and developed the initial Passenger Name Record (PNR) framework. His 30+ scholarly articles have been published in leading legal and professional journals, and his expertise was internationally recognized through his featured contribution to Channel News Asia’s documentary “Drug Abuse 2.0”, where he provided expert analysis on New Psychoactive Substances (NPS).

An internationally acclaimed trainer, Shri Gopal has trained officers from over 40 countries under the ITEC Programme at NACIN and has conducted specialized training programs for IRS and IPS officers, NCB, CBIC, DRI, National Police Academy, BSF, CRPF, CISF, NSG, Indian Coast Guard, SSB, Assam Rifles, and numerous State Police and Anti-Narcotics Task Forces across India. His unparalleled blend of practical enforcement experience, academic scholarship, and commitment to legal education has established him as one of India’s foremost authorities on the NDPS Act and narcotics law enforcement.
