About the Opportunity
Aditya Birla Capital is inviting applications for the position of Regional Legal Manager (Non-Litigation) in Pune. The selected candidate will be responsible for legal due diligence, title verification, policy formulation, contract drafting, portfolio monitoring, stakeholder management, and ensuring legal compliance throughout the retail lending lifecycle.

Experience Required
Relevant experience in legal due diligence, title verification, retail lending, real estate laws, contract drafting, legal risk management, and financial services is required. Experience in the banking, NBFC, or housing finance sector will be preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct legal assessment, approval, and recommendation of retail, prime, affordable, and construction finance loan proposals.
- Mitigate title risks through legal due diligence and title verification.
- Review PDDs, escrow arrangements, maintain MIS, and monitor legal exceptions.
- Draft, vet, and negotiate contracts, undertakings, loan documents, and transaction-specific covenants.
- Coordinate with empanelled advocates and ensure timely completion of legal due diligence processes.
- Formulate and update legal policies, collateral acceptance policies, procedures, and documentation standards.
- Provide legal guidance to business, credit, risk, operations, and collections teams.
- Ensure timely legal approvals within prescribed turnaround times (TATs).
- Monitor portfolio risks, identify early warning signals, and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct legal analysis relating to defective titles, possession issues, security creation failures, and other legal risks.
- Prepare and monitor MIS reports and portfolio analytics.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, external counsels, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities.
- Conduct training sessions and promote a strong risk and compliance culture across business teams.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should possess:
- A degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university.
- Relevant experience in legal due diligence, property title verification, retail lending, mortgage laws, and contract drafting.
- Strong knowledge of banking, financial services, real estate, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent drafting, analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Remuneration
Remuneration shall be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and company policies.
