About the University

University School of Law and Legal Studies at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, situated in Dwarka, New Delhi, was founded in 2001.

The college’s objective is to furnish an intellectually stimulating, socially invigorating, and professionally enriching education. This is achieved by nurturing academic potential, fostering critical analytical ability, and honing skills in advocacy, counselling, and ADR.

Throughout the month, we will rally around a series of events and competitions that not only showcase our commitment to addressing global challenges but also celebrate the power of unity in fostering positive change.

Each event is carefully curated to resonate with the core values of NSS, inviting participation from every corner of our community and beyond. While the events listed here are just a glimpse, they embody the spirit of our collective effort to create meaningful change.

About the Competition

World Water Day, observed annually on March 22nd, is a day dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of water resources. In commemoration of this significant day, we propose hosting a Painting Competition with the theme “Water for Peace.”

The World Water Day Painting Competition offers artists an opportunity to use their talent and creativity to advocate for the vital role of water in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development. By harnessing the power of art to communicate complex issues and inspire action, we can raise awareness about the importance of water conservation, access, and cooperation in building a more peaceful and equitable world.

Eligibility

The competition is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students of Delhi-NCR only.

Theme

Water for Peace

Competition Structure

Participants will be invited to create original paintings that explore the theme of “Water for Peace” in their unique style and interpretation. Paintings may depict scenes of water bodies, landscapes, people, or abstract representations that convey the importance of water in promoting harmony, reconciliation, and sustainable development. Artists are encouraged to use their creativity and imagination to convey powerful messages about the role of water in building peaceful societies.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

Interpretation of Theme: The extent to which the painting captures the essence of “Water for Peace” and conveys a meaningful message or narrative.
Artistic Expression: The skillful use of color, composition, texture, and technique to evoke emotions and engage the viewer.
Originality and Creativity: The freshness and inventiveness of the artistic approach and concept.
Overall Impact: The ability of the painting to inspire reflection, awareness, and action on the issue of water and peace.

Prizes

Merit Certificates and other prizes will be awarded to the top 3 entries and E-certificates of Participation will be provided to each participant.
