Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is inviting applications for the position of Legal Assistant (Techno Legal Consultant). The role offers an excellent opportunity for legal professionals with experience in intellectual property, contract management, patent prosecution, and data privacy to work with one of India’s leading multinational technology companies.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct prior art searches using both paid and free patent databases.
- Perform prior art search analysis and invention mining.
- Conduct Freedom to Operate (FTO) analysis for products and technology platforms.
- Collaborate with technical teams to assess intellectual property risks and opportunities.
- Prepare responses to First Examination Reports (FER) during patent prosecution.
- Work with inventors to understand inventions and draft Information Disclosure Forms (IDFs).
- Draft and prosecute patent applications.
- Review, draft, and negotiate agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
- Review GenAI use cases from a legal and compliance perspective.
- Review data privacy-related documents and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should possess:
- An LL.B. degree from a recognized university.
- 3–8 years of relevant legal experience.
- Experience in:
- Prior Art Search Analysis
- Invention Mining
- Freedom to Operate (FTO) Analysis
- Patent Drafting
- Patent Prosecution
- Intellectual Property Law
- Contract Management
- Contract Drafting
- GenAI legal use case review
- Data Privacy documentation
- Strong legal research, drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
Remuneration
Remuneration shall be as per company standards and commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
