West African country Burkina Faso is a topic of discussion by many Human Rights group due to a mass massacre happening repeatedly.
The country is currently under military rule, after an illegal and forceful control by a military organization by Junta military group
Burkina Faso is considered to be a focal point of aggression and violence for a long period of time, spreading by Islamistgroups linked to Al Qaeda and the Islamic State. Thousandshave been killed and many have been internally displaced.
44 people were killed in different attacks in villages of northern region early April by various terrorist groups. 136 more people were claimed to be killed by the unknown groups in similar manner in different part of the regions as well. It is reported that most of them were innocent kids and infants. The act was condemned by authorities and an investigation was called off.
Recently, in northern Burkina Faso, 70 innocents were massacred, most of them were children and elderly. The Investigation is in progress. According to the testimonials and findings collected the perpetrators are still unknown.
The death toll in the region is nearly 100, accordingtotheEuropean Union. Human rights groups have accusedCapt. Ibrahim Traore of The Junta, for exploiting civilians and restraining civil liberties in the name of securing the country.
Civilians said that the volunteers have killed people suspecting them of working with jihadis. Many communities say that they’re more afraid of the volunteers than the extremists themselves.
Military Ruling Government of Burkina Faso claims that they have placed thousands of volunteer fighters to combat extremist groups.
