India and Australia recently had their first-ever education and skill meet, which aimed to strengthen their cooperation in education and skill development. This meeting, chaired by India’s Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Australian Minister for Education Jason Clare, along with Australian Minister for Skills and Training Brendan O’Connor, discussed various aspects of collaboration.
The Indian Minister Pradhan stated that 2023 is the highlighted significant year for their cooperation in education and skill development.
Australia India Education and Skill Council (AIESC), This council’s inaugural meeting took place at IIT Gandhinagar and is expected to play a pivotal role in building stronger knowledge connections, advancing shared priorities in education and skill development.
This meeting between India and Australia focused on strengthening their educational and skill-related ties. They exchanged agreements to encourage research collaboration in important fields, emphasizing the significance of education and skills in their bilateral relationship. This initiative will help create new opportunities and bridges between the two countries.
During the meeting, five MoUs were signed between Australian and Indian Higher Education Institutes. These MoUs aim to facilitate research collaborations in critical areas such as artificial intelligence, agriculture, water management, critical minerals, and healthcare.
