About the Book

The Preamble of the Indian Constitution stands as a beacon of the guiding principles and aspirations upon which the nation was founded. Envisioned by the framers of the constitution, it encapsulates the collective will and resolve of the people of India to uphold the values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity.

It is a crucial aspect of the document, serving as an introduction or preface that outlines the Constitution’s objectives, declares its source of authority, provides a framework for interpretation, emphasizes unity and integrity, and serves as an inspirational document. In contemporary times, the Preamble continues to be relevant as India navigates through complex socio-political issues.

It provides a moral compass for policymakers, guiding them towards policies and initiatives that uphold the principles of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity. Moreover, it serves as a rallying point for civil society movements, inspiring citizens to advocate for social justice, human rights, and democratic values.

As we reflect on the essence of the Preamble, we invite scholars, researchers, academicians, and practitioners to delve into its various dimensions and implications through the lens of interdisciplinary perspectives.
