On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that because the achievements made by women in the Constituent assembly are rarely discussed, it is crucial to educate the nation’s youth about them. The Prime Minister specifically mentioned Dalit woman and Constituent Assembly member Dakshayani Velayudhan during his remarks at the Supreme Court’s Constitution Day celebration.

“There were 15 women in our constituent assembly, including Dakshayani Velayudhan, a member of a disadvantaged society. She had made significant contributions to numerous issues involving Dalits and others from lower social classes. Many female members, like Durgabai Deshmukh, Hansa Mehta, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, and others, have made significant contributions to the discussion of issues pertaining to women. Rarely are their contributions discussed. Our youth would learn the answers to their questions once they saw how important their efforts were. Additionally, it would develop a sense of loyalty in them, strengthening the democracy, the constitution, and the nation’s future “stated PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “The words “WE THE PEOPLE” written in the Preamble of our Constitution are not ordinary words; they are an evocation, a commitment, a belief, and they are the emotion that has been the mother of democracy.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, addressed the group of legal dignitaries and expressed his gratitude to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, who envisioned a modern India, the members of the Constituent Assembly, and the numerous members of the legislature, executive branch, and judicial branch who over the course of seven decades have contributed to the growth and expansion of the Indian Constitution. He also paid respect to those who had perished in the Mumbai Terror Attacks on November 26, 2001.

According to Prime Minister Modi, “Given our quick development, rapidly expanding economy, and growing global footprint, the entire world is now focused on India, and they are looking at us with great optimism. A nation for which it was predicted that it would not be able to maintain its independence and that it would crumble is today moving forward with all of its strength and pride in its diversity. The greatest strength underlying all of this is our Constitution.”

Today, Prime Minister Modi announced the Supreme Court’s e-initiatives and praised the actions being taken to make the administration of justice easier. He stated: “The Indian Constitution reflects the nation’s moral and cultural values in the modern world. I am pleased that the nation consistently upholds the founding principles and the spirit of the Constitution. Pro-people policies help to build the nation and its citizens while also simplifying the laws for them. The judiciary is making important moves to deliver justice promptly. I had the chance to introduce the Supreme Court’s e-initiatives today, and I want to thank you all for your efforts in advancing justice through this new initiative and other initiatives.”

The prime minister encouraged everyone to be aware of their responsibilities and carry them out for the good of the country. He cited Mahatma Gandhi and remarked, “According to Mahatma Gandhi, our rights are those duties that we fulfil with genuine integrity and determination. This mantra is becoming a promise in our Amritkaal today as we set off on our journey for the next 25 years. This Amritkaal is the country’s Kartavyakaal. The current order of importance is determined by our obligations. We can only further our nation’s development while carrying out our obligations. India is overcoming new obstacles and moving forward as fresh chances present themselves to the nation today. As representatives of Team India, we all have a responsibility to advance the image of the nation and bring India’s achievements on the international scene. It is imperative that we strengthen India’s reputation as the birthplace of democracy.”

The Prime Minister also discussed the importance of educating the nation’s youth about the Constitution’s spirit. “The spirit of the Constitution is centred on youth because its framers gave us a document that is open, forward-looking, and renowned for its modern vision. Today, young people are leading the charge in every area of India’s development, whether it is in sports, businesses, information technology, or digital payments. The youth are charged with upholding the Constitution and its institutions. For this reason, I would want the government and judiciary to hold discussions on our constitution so that the young people can comprehend it better. What conditions existed in the nation at the time the Constitution was written? What took place during those constitutional discussions? These topics should be made familiar to our youngsters in order to increase their interest in the Constitution. Additionally, it would provide them the perspective to comprehend ideas like empowerment and equality. As an illustration, our constituent parliament comprised 15 female members, including Dakshayani Velayudhan, a member of a low-class community. Additionally, it would increase their sense of loyalty, which would improve this nation’s democracy, constitution, and future.”
