As we see water crisis in India, recently the high court of Meghalaya ask the state government about the report on the scheme of water supply because it was seen that the water tankers charges exorbitant rate for the water supply to the people of the state.
The court ask the state government to utilise the fund of state for the water supply. And also use the fund to clean the water bodies so that there is transparent flow of water in the state.
The court also highlighted that the supply of water tankers supply which takes place to other states and also cannotting towards prohibiting this act of the tankers.
Moreover the court took cognizance on the water supply of the state. And also directed the state to utilise its fund for water supply as well as rejuvenation of the water.
