A bench led by Justice SK Kaul and Sudhanshu Dhulia brought a huge relief to congress government in Chhattisgarh. The bench directed the ED to stay put to the current investigation over liquor scam and also provided interim protection against arrest to 52 officers including IAS officer Anil Tuteja.
The court declared that no coercive action shall take place against the officers, making it clear that atmosphere of fear and coercions is not acceptable. The court also held that ED need to seek permission to resume further investigation.
The decision came after chattisgarh government alleged that ED is trying create havoc and trying to implicate allegations on state chief minister Bhupesh Bhagel in money laundering cases.
