The Chief Justice expressed concern over the suffering caused to the victim and the inadequacy of fines imposed on media outlets for such actions.
The Court expressed concern about the protection of voiceless people from poorer backgrounds after a woman was beaten, stripped, and paraded in a village. The incident was described as shocking and the Court questioned the state’s progressiveness.
The Court criticized certain media outlets for broadcasting visuals of the victim, stating that they were acting irresponsibly and insensitively. The Court ordered the removal of such broadcasts featuring the victim’s visuals.
