New livery and a logo have been unveiled by Tata-owned Air India to coincide with the delivery of an A350 in December 2023. The rebranding represents a vibrant India and the airline’s shift to Vihaan.AI. The logo is called “The Vista,” and the design features a gold window frame that stands in for a “Window of Possibilities.” The livery aims for a luxury, inclusive image with deep red, aubergine, and gold tones, a pattern that is inspired by chakras, a new font, and several other design elements.
“Our transformative new brand reflects an ambition to make Air India a world-class airline serving passengers from around the globe, and that proudly represents a new India on the global stage,” stated Campbell Wilson, CEO & MD of Air India. The new Air India is brash, self-assured, and bright, but it’s also incredibly friendly and firmly based in its long history and storied traditions, which make Indian hospitality the gold standard for hospitality around the world.
In order to convert Air India into a top-tier airline that stands out for its unshakable dedication to safety, integration of cutting-edge technology, and unrelenting pursuit of excellence, Tata Chairman N. Chandrasekaran has outlined a visionary course for the airline. The recently announced corporate concept, developed in partnership with Future Brand, captures both the airline’s rich past and its aspirations for the future.
The famous Maharaja imagery has been reimagined as part of this all-encompassing rebranding effort, fusing traditional beauty with contemporary vitality. The launch of the new visual identity, which is slated to begin in December 2023, will follow the addition of the Airbus A350 to the airline’s fleet.
Air India’s trajectory towards becoming a major player in aviation will be accelerated by the imminent merger with Vistara, which is anticipated to take place by March 2024 and is supported and assisted by Singapore Airlines.
A sizable order for 470 aircraft, including the A350 and Dreamliner models, is at the heart of Air India’s strategic expansion and solidifies the country’s leadership position in aviation worldwide. Air India plans to improve the passenger experience with a $400 million investment in a thorough renovation programme. A third of the widebody fleet will have updated interiors and connectivity by March 2024, laying the groundwork for an extraordinary travel experience.
In order to position Air India as a worldwide aviation standard, Chairman N. Chandrasekaran’s goal transcends aesthetics and focuses on a holistic change combining service quality, innovation, and national pride.
