• Over 400 towns in Ukraine experience power outage due to Russian drone attacks on the country’s infrastructure. According to Ukrainian officials, infrastructure facilities in Ukraine were targeted by Russian drones in an overnight attack that resulted in power outages . There are 400 towns and villages located in the southern, southeastern, and northern regions of the country.. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy praised the air force for taking down 29 out of 38 Iranian-made Shahed drones in various regions of Ukraine between 8 p.m. (1800 GMT) on Friday and 4 a.m. on Saturday.
• The energy ministry has confirmed that despite the drone strikes causing damage to the grid, there is still sufficient electricity in the system to cater to the country’s requirements. However, as a result of this damage, approximately 1,550 consumers have been deprived of power.
• Despite the warm autumn, Ukrainian officials are warning residents and businesses to prepare for potential Russian attacks as temperatures begin to drop. The energy workers and defense forces are all gearing up to repel any possible attacks on the energy infrastructure this winter.
• Unfortunately, an oil refinery in the Odesa region was already hit, causing damage to an administrative building and injuring one civilian, according to a statement from the south military command on the Telegram messaging app.
• The energy ministry has reported that six settlements in the Chernihiv region are currently without power due to the attack.
