About the Seminar

To generate awareness, this seminar intends to serve as a medium of discourse for us to engage in meaningful dialogues, share insights, and broaden our understanding of the evolving legal landscape in the present Indian Criminal Law set-up. This Seminar attempts to delve into the issue of how these three newly introduced laws were an earnest endeavour to decolonize laws made during the British era and further to address the change in perspective about how the modern society needs to revamp the Indian Criminal Justice System.

Our aim is to make participants as well as interested stakeholders aware of the important changes brought forth by the new substantive and procedural criminal laws. Our goal is to convey the impact of implementation of new criminal laws and the relevance of the existing criminal laws on interpretation of new laws.

In essence, this Seminar aims to provide a forum for scholars, practitioners and students to share research findings and practical experiences and further to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and dissemination of information among educators, academicians, research scholars, legal experts, legal practitioners, Human Rights activists, and students of legal and other allied fields.
