Madras High Court hears Habeas Corpus filed by V. Senthibalaji’s wife

On Tuesday, the Madras High Court finished hearing the Habeas Corpus petition filed by the Tamil Nadu Minister V. Senthibalaji’s wife Meghala challenging her husband’s arrest by the ED on June 14 because of his involvement in the money-laundering case registered in 2021.

The petition was being heard by Justices J. Nisha Banu and D. Bharata Chakravarty. The Solicitor-General Tushar Mehta and Additional Solicitor-General A.R.L Sundaresan spoke for the ED while Senior Counsels Mukul Rohtagi and N.R Elango spoke for the petitioner.

The hearing on Tuesday went on for seven hours and all the written submissions were asked to be done by today.
