About the Opportunity
Reliance Retail is hiring for the positions of Legal Counsel, Senior Manager Legal (Contract + Litigation) and State Regulatory Office.
Roles and Responsibilities
Legal Counsel
- In drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and associated documents – procurement and sale agreements, confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, Information Technology (IT) related agreements, SAAS and licensing agreements.
- Providing advisory support on legal and compliance issues pertaining to the different areas of e-commerce operations and product listing.
- Drafting terms & conditions (T&Cs) and associated policy documents for online platforms and websites.
- Assisting the Business in reviewing, structuring and vetting new business proposals and initiatives.
Senior Manager Legal (Contract + Litigation)
- Manage litigation matters from inception to resolution.
- Draft and respond to legal notices, conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts (procurement, sale, IT, SAAS, licensing).
- Ensure compliance with consumer protection laws, product safety standards, and retail regulations.
- Assist in policy development for legal compliance across retail channels.
- Maintain legal documentation and records related to contracts, leases, and agreements.
State Regulatory Office
- Plan and execute activities for the procurement of licenses for new sites before site opening or within statutory prescribed time limits.
- Understand the business strategy and external environment to align regulatory activities accordingly.
- Timely response to notices/complaints from the Legal Department.
- Ensure filing of returns for all applicable licenses for active sites.
- Ensure compliance of establishments under various legislations.
- Track and maintain status trackers for all licenses across all sites.
Eligibility Criteria
Legal Counsel
- Business Function: Legal.
- Qualification: LLB.
- Experience: 6 to 12 years post-qualification experience, in-house experience will be preferred.
Senior Manager Legal (Contract + Litigation)
- Business Function: Legal
- Qualification: LLB.
- Experience: 15 to 20 years post-qualification experience, in-house experience will be preferred.
State Regulatory Office
- Business Function: Public Policy and Regulatory.
- Qualification: Graduate.
- Experience: 10 to 16 years post-qualification experience.
