About the Job Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Legal Associate to lead and manage legal operations for the company and its associated group entities. This role will involve handling legal documentation, tracking ongoing litigation, coordinating with external counsels, and maintaining the company’s legal MIS.
Job Responsibilities:
- Legal MIS Management: Regularly update and maintain the Legal MIS for tracking agreements, compliance deadlines, ongoing litigation, and legal risks.
- Case Tracking: Monitor and document progress of ongoing legal matters, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory issues.
- Coordination with External Lawyers: Liaise with appointed legal counsels for case updates, filings, appearances, and opinion-based work.
- Legal Leadership: Represent and lead the legal department’s initiatives across the company and its associated group companies.
- Draft, review, and finalize various legal agreements including commercial contracts, lease deeds, service contracts, NDAs, and vendor agreements.
- Ensure corporate legal compliance with applicable laws including Companies Act, Contract Act, Property Law, Labour Law, and Logistics regulations.
- Assist with regulatory filings, due diligence, and internal policy development.
- Support departments with legal advisory and risk mitigation strategies.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognized university;
- Minimum 2 year of professional experience as a corporate/in-house lawyer (total experience: 2–5 years).
- Strong knowledge of commercial, corporate, property law and labour law.
- Proven experience in managing legal documentation, external counsel coordination, and case tracking.
- Familiarity with legal MIS systems and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication, drafting, and organizational skills.
- Preferred Skills: Experience in logistics, warehousing, or infrastructure sectors.
- Ability to manage legal operations independently with minimal supervision.
- Sound judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and business priorities.
