The Ministry plays a key role in promoting gender equality and child welfare across the nation.
About the Internship Opportunity
MWCD offers a Voluntary Internship Programme aimed at providing women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers from rural and non-tier-I cities the opportunity to gain exposure to government policies and programs. The initiative aligns with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas.”
The internship is offered four times a year, each for a duration of two months, and is designed to foster policy-oriented research and practical engagement with the Ministry’s functioning.
Interns Responsibilities:
- Conduct pilot projects or micro-studies on MWCD schemes
- Engage with implementation teams of government programs
- Provide empirical analysis, briefing notes, and policy papers
- Participate in interactions with ministry officials and other stakeholders
- Submit reports or presentations based on research and observations
Eligibility & Qualifications:
- Who Can Apply:
- Women students, scholars, teachers, and social activists
- Must be from non-tier-I cities or rural India
- Must be enrolled in or associated with an academic or non-academic institution
- Age Limit: 21 to 40 years
Additional Perks
- Stipend: ₹20,000 per month
- Travel Reimbursement: Round-trip travel costs by AC Bus/3-Tier AC Train
- Accommodation: Shared hostel facility in Delhi with basic amenities (mess charges not included)
- Certificate: Issued upon successful completion and submission of reports
- Logistics Support: Seating, internet, and stationery provided
- Internship Coordinator: Assigned to support and supervise the intern

- Application window: 1st to 10th of the month two months before the desired internship term (e.g., 1st–10th March for May–June term)
- Each candidate can apply only once per financial year
