About the Opportunity
NHRC conducts its Summer Internship Programme to promote awareness and understanding of human rights issues. Interns get exposure to policy discussions, research work, and institutional functioning of one of Indiaβs premier statutory bodies.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following:
- Law Students:
β’ 2nd & 3rd year (3-year LL.B.)
β’ 4th & 5th year (5-year LL.B.) - LL.M. students
- Students from social sciences and related disciplines
- Minimum 60% marks in Class XII and graduation semesters
- Age not exceeding 28 years as on 01.04.2026
- Must be enrolled in a UGC-recognized university
Selection Criteria
- Academic performance
- 250-word Statement of Purpose (SOP)
- Letter of Recommendation (LOR)
- Preference for candidates with interest in human rights research
Programme Highlights
- Classroom sessions on human rights issues
- Interaction with NHRC Chairperson and senior officials
- Research project work
- Field visits (courts, commissions, institutions)
