Internship Opportunity at Competition Commission of India | Law Students Eligible | Stipend Rs. 15,000
About the Opportunity
Competition Commission of India (CCI) has invited applications for its Internship Programme for students interested in Competition Law and related regulatory studies. The internship aims to familiarize students with the provisions and practical application of the Competition Act.
The internship is open to Indian Nationals from recognized institutions and universities with exposure to Competition Law.
Eligibility Criteria for Law Students
Law students pursuing the following courses are eligible to apply:
- Second and third year students of the 3-year LL.B. course after graduation
- Fourth and final year students of the 5-year integrated LL.B. course
- Students who have completed the 3rd year and are entering the 4th year of the integrated course
- LL.M. students
Important Condition
Students having a placement in hand are not eligible for the internship programme.
Internship Duration
The internship is generally conducted for a period of:
- 1 Month
However, students interested in pursuing the internship for:
- 2–3 Calendar Months
may also apply with proper recommendation from their institution.
Internship Structure
Selected interns may be deputed to various divisions of the Commission where work shall be allocated under the supervision of officers assigned by the respective Divisional Heads.
Internship Exposure Includes:
- Competition Law research
- Regulatory analysis
- Legal research and drafting
- Presentations and report preparation
- Interaction with different divisions of the Commission
CCI also conducts an induction programme on the provisions of the Competition Act, 2002 on the first day of the internship.
Honorarium
Selected interns shall receive:
- Rs. 15,000/- per month as honorarium.
Important Conditions
- Internship is a full-time programme
- Interns are required to observe official working hours
- Interns are expected to maintain discipline, punctuality, integrity, and confidentiality
- A presentation on the work completed during the internship is mandatory for issuance of certificate and stipend release
Facilities Provided
Interns may be provided:
- Office space
- Intercom and computer facilities
- Access to the Commission’s library facilities
Application Process
Interested candidates are required to:
- Apply in the prescribed format
- Submit a Statement of Purpose of approximately 200 words
- Obtain recommendation from their institution/university
Applications without recommendation or Statement of Purpose shall not be entertained.
