The consumer court of Hyderabad directed a bus operator to pay ₹10,000 as compensation to a person whose confirmed ticket was canceled because of the unavailability of the bus. President V. N. Rao and members PVTR Jawahar and Madhavi all directed that Orange Tours has to pay the compensation along with the ticket purchased by the victim ₹55 plus interest.
The complainant booked an AC bus ticket on August 23, 2022, which was confirmed after he made the payment to the bus services provider. The ticket was canceled on the ground of the unavailability of the bus service and the bus provider person said that the money that has been spent on the ticket would be refunded by them and unfortunately he had to nook another bus.
The present complaint is filed under the legal aid initiative which is on social media platforms like X (Twitter). The consumer care after examining all the facts gave the decision in his favor and after that, he was eligible to get the compensation.
