• This disturbing trend was witnessed by members of the Montanans in Solidarity with Palestine group, who encountered a masked protest group chanting xenophobic and racist hate speech during a march in Missoula. The organizers of the pro-Palestinian march made it clear that any form of hatred was unacceptable and stood in solidarity with those targeted by the extremist group.
• According to the president of Har Shalom synagogue, the encounter with the group instilled fear in both pro-Palestinian protesters and synagogue members who had been previously protested against by the group earlier that day, as reported by ABC News.
• Jamie Klein, the synagogue president, mentioned that it was the inaugural visit of such a group to Har Shalom synagogue. This incident in Montana serves as a single instance highlighting the concerns raised by experts regarding extremist groups and individuals with malicious intentions exploiting the existing tensions.
• On October 7, Hamas, a terrorist group, launched a surprise attack on Israel, which led to Israel responding with a bombing campaign and a complete siege of the Gaza Strip. As of Tuesday, the Israeli prime minister’s office reported that at least 1,200 people have been killed and 6,900 others have been injured in Israel, while at least 11,240 people have been killed and another 29,000 have been injured in the neighboring Gaza Strip, according to the Gaza Health Ministry run by Hamas.
