Matrix IEC Pvt Ltd is hiring a Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team in Mumbai. The role is suited for an experienced media and entertainment lawyer with strong expertise in contracts, intellectual property, commercial negotiations, and industry-specific legal matters.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. It positions you as legal counsel in mumbai to support the business.
The selected candidate will work closely with the business and legal teams. They will advise on contractual matters and negotiations. They will handle deal structuring and legal documentation across media and entertainment.
The role provides an opportunity to work on celebrity and media agreements, film and production contracts, licensing arrangements, intellectual property matters, and commercial negotiations.

5+ years of relevant legal experience, including at least 3+ years of experience at a law firm.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including celebrity, endorsement, film, production, and licensing agreements.
- Advise internal teams on contractual risks and provide practical, commercially viable legal solutions.
- Negotiate with brands, agencies, production houses, platforms, and external counsel.
- Support commercial negotiations and deal structuring.
- Manage contract execution, renewals, amendments, and related legal documentation.
- Provide legal support on matters involving media, entertainment, intellectual property, and commercial transactions.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should possess:
- LL.B. degree from a recognized Indian university.
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience, including 3+ years at a law firm.
- Strong experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Strong understanding of Media Law, Entertainment Law, and Intellectual Property Law.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- A commercially minded and solution-focused approach to legal matters.
- Candidates who can join relatively soon are preferred, with 30 days or sooner being ideal.
