About The College
S.Thangapazham Law College was established in the year 2022. This college has been affiliated to the Tamil Nadu
Dr.Ambedkar Law University, Chennai & approved by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. Our vision is to enrich education and
promote the interests of students in rural areas which are educationally backward.
The main objective of our institution is to provide students with diverse knowledge in the fields of Social Studies, Business, and Economics being integrated with legal education. Indeed the legal education at STLC makes legal professionals who will play a decisive role in meeting various challenges. We encourage our students to participate in various extracurricular activities such as Quiz competitions, webinars, Moot Courts, Mock Trail, Seminars, and outreach Programmes.
Objective of Competition
Indeed, due to the growth of technology, society is undergoing changes in all walks of life. Unfortunately, these changes become a challenge sometimes causing social and political impediments. As Law plays a vital role in shaping a developed and civilized society, legal studies, which govern all the social domains, are getting wide attention nowadays. So, the Essay writing competition has been designed and devised to cater to the student’s educational and professional spheres. Besides, it is intended to provide students with exposure to showcase their writing skills which are considered to be of paramount importance in the legal domain.

Eligibility Criteria
Students who are pursuing 5 year/3 year LLB degree course and only students of the Arts & Science UG degree course can participate.
Guidelines
- The student who participates in the competition should attach a copy of his/her ID card to the soft copies of the essay.
- The essay should be written only in the English language.
- The essay should be an unpublished, original work of the student.
- Length of essay – not more than 3000 words excluding footnotes.
- Font Style – Times New Roman, Size 12, Line Spacing – 1.5, Foot Note: Font Size 10, Line Spacing – 1.0, Alignment Justified.
- Last date for submission of Registration on 14th August 2023.
- The typed essay should be sent in pdf format on or before 18th August 2023 at stlcessaywriting@gmail.com
- The result of the competition will be announced on 30th August 2023.
- The judge’s decision is final and irrevocable.
Awards
- First Prize of Rs.10000 and an E-Certificate
- Second Prize of Rs.5000 and an E- Certificate
- E-Certificate will be given to all the participants of the competition.
