
Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code and The Evidence Act are the milestone Acts which plays an important role in knowing about the provisions and the punishments regarding the various crimes. Thus Union Ministers on Friday said about the replacement of Indian Penal Code. And this replacement will also repeal the sedition which is criminalised under section of 124A in IPC.
The minister has rounded three bills for the replacement namely Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code and The Evidence Act. He current added that The IPX will ahet related by The Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023
In this bill under section 150 it has been stated punishment for the Act which endangers the sovereignty unity and integrity of India.
The Chief Justice of India NV Ramana and Justices Surya Kant and Hima Kohli and even Central government were of the opinion that during the colonial era, the sedition was to be made rigours under Section 124A. But now according to the time changes ,there provision also should get changed. And The 22nd Law Commission 2023 will retained the statute with certain changes.
This 22nd Law commission report said that, “IPC need to have some amendmemts as it was decided in the case Kedar Nath Sing vs State of Bihar”.
The IPC which has been considered as a the core of the Criminal Justice System which has been old as 160 years ago will be replaced by Bharatiya Nyaya Samhita whereas Crpc will get replaced by Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 and
The Indian Evidence Act of 1872 will be replaced by the Bharatiya Sakshya Bill, 2023.
