Submissions are invited for papers for HPNLU Journal of Social Sciences [Volume-I, 2023]. The last date of submission is December 25.
About the Journal
The HPNLU Journal of Social Sciences, Shimla, is launching its maiden issue (Volume 1). The journal is for multidisciplinary authorship, research and readership which focus on the real world research.
The Journal accepts works and researches from diverse areas of life which include Anthropology, History, Political Science, Sociology, Language, Economics, Psychology, Criminology, Linguistics, Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, Diaspora, Migration Studies, Race and Ethics, religion and more. It welcomes theoretical, methodological, quantitative and qualitative ideas from all the areas under the realm of Social Sciences.
Submission Categories
The contribution may be made in the form of Research Papers / Article, Notes & Comments and Book Review. The contribution, in given category, should be comprehensive and in-depth analysis of contemporary social, political, economic issues. The following word limits should be observed:
- ARTICLES (6000-10000 words)
- ESSAYS AND COMMENTS (4000-6000 words)
- Book Review (3000-4000 words) (Contribution under this Category is required to be made along with the new hard copy of the Book).
Submission Guidelines
- Theme: There is no specific or particular theme(s) or topic(s) for the Volume. All submissions, relating to anthropology, history, political Science, Sociology, Language, Economics, Psychology, Criminology, Linguistics, Cultural Studies, Gender Studies, Diaspora, Migration Studies, Race and Ethics, religion and more are welcome.
- Abstract: Abstract of the paper in 250-300 words should be sent along with the electronic submissions.
- Covering Letter: Author(s) must send a covering letter mentioning the title of the paper, name, designation, and details of the author(s) as well as institutional affiliation. The author(s) are compulsorily required to make a solemn declaration about the originality of the manuscript and that the same has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere.
- Communication of Acceptance: The decision on the acceptance of the paper for publication will be that of the Editorial Board, which shall be final. The communication shall be made electronically. The Editorial Board reserves the right of publication and a manuscript may be rejected from publication in the final stage(s).
Style Requirement
- Citation: For citation and references, follow the latest edition of APA/ Chicago/ MLA Style
- Lengthy Quotations discouraged: Author(s) should avoid long quotations and keep it at minimum wherever necessary with full and proper acknowledgement.
- The citations must mention the page(s) of the source.
- Websites: Only authoritative and authentic websites may be cited. References to internet sources, such as Wikipedia, blogs, commercial websites, etc., are not acceptable.
How to Submit?
Selection of entries shall be based on double-blind peer review. Queries about submission of papers and related matters may be directed to jss@hpnlu.ac.in by email. Submissions will be evaluated on academic relevance, augmentation and methodology to uphold the highest research and ethical standards.
Submission shall be accepted only through email, and the same need to be captioned as “Submission to jss@hpnlu.ac.in.<Title of Manuscript>”.

The last date for submission of contribution is December 25, 2023.
