About the Journal

The Indian Journal of Intellectual Property Law (IJIPL) is the flagship intellectual property law journal of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. As India’s first student-run journal devoted exclusively to Intellectual Property Law, it serves as a platform for advancing scholarly discourse in the field.

Published annually, the journal is a collaborative initiative of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad and the N.C. Banerjee Centre for Intellectual Property Rights Studies, focusing on contemporary issues and developments in Intellectual Property Law and Policy. 

Over the years, IJIPL has hosted contributions from eminent scholars and experts, including Prof. Shamnad Basheer, Prof. Srividhya Ragavan, Dr. Mrinalini Kochupillai, Prof. Michele Boldrin, Prof. David Levine, and several other renowned intellectual property law scholars. 

About the Call for Papers

The Indian Journal of Intellectual Property Law is inviting submissions for its 16th Volume, which is tentatively scheduled for publication by the end of 2026.

The Journal welcomes original contributions that engage with contemporary theoretical, legal, and policy debates relating to Intellectual Property Law. Interdisciplinary approaches and fresh perspectives on intellectual property policy are particularly encouraged. 

Who Can Submit?

Submissions are invited from:

Categories of Submission

Articles

Articles should comprehensively analyze a legal issue, contemporary development, or the existing legal framework.

Word Limit: 5,000–6,000 words

Essays

Essays should challenge existing norms and paradigms while providing innovative perspectives on common legal issues.

Word Limit: 3,000–5,000 words

Notes

Notes should focus on recent debates, controversies, or developments relating to the interpretation or implementation of law.

Word Limit: 2,500 words

Book Review/Comment

Authors may review and critique:

Word Limit: 2,500 words
