
Patna, September 12, 2023 – In an encouraging show of commitment to education and social change, Patna High Court Judge Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh and Chief Executive Officer, Bihar State Legal Services Authority (BSLSA), visited the slums. It is currently under the jurisdiction of Rupaspur police station. The purpose of this visit was to interact with the slum dwellers and emphasize the importance of education in the lives of their children.
During his visit, Justice Singh interacted with several slum dwellers and raised awareness about the vital role of education in shaping the future of young minds. Emphasizing the promise of a brighter future through education, Justice Singh appealed to slum dwellers to ensure that their children enroll in nearby schools. He also assured the slum dwellers that BSLSA will definitely help them if they face any problem in the admission process.
This visit is a testament to the joint efforts made by all the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSA) across Bihar. The initiative has been a huge success, with more than 330 underprivileged children from slum areas currently enrolled in school. This initiative was launched on Independence Day, August 15, 2023, under the patronage of Hon’ble Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Justice K. Vinod Chandran.
The visit was also attended by Shri Rajesh Narayan Swak Pandey, Member Secretary BSLSA and other stakeholders of the organization to provide quality educational opportunities to the underprivileged children living in the slums of Bihar. He emphasized the collective effort to provide it.
This initiative by the Bihar Legal Services Department not only demonstrates their commitment to justice, but also highlights the importance of education as a powerful tool for social change. It is expected that this initiative will continue to positively impact the lives of countless underprivileged children and bring peace to the world.
