Starting from Tuesday, the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana will launch a lecture series aimed at offering guidance and training to junior lawyers and newcomers in order to provide them with clarity during their early years of practice. The Bar Council’s pilot initiative will consist of a series of lectures lasting 35 minutes each, beginning on July 4 and ending on July 15, with Sundays excluded. These informative sessions will be conducted by senior advocates and experienced practitioners.
The lecture will be delivered on the following topics:
- Court-craft and Court etiquettes,
- Drafting, Pleadings & Filing with Registry,
- Litigation simplified,
- Basics of any one specific area of legal practice.
In a letter addressed to the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association and the High Court Senior Advocates Bar Association, Suvir Sidhu, the Chairman of the Bar Council, expressed that senior professionals in the legal field possess valuable experience and expertise. He emphasized the importance of their assistance and guidance in nurturing a more competent second line of lawyers. The Council believes that such an initiative would greatly benefit those lawyers who genuinely seek mentorship.
The Bar Council has appealed to the High Court Bar associations for their assistance in encouraging senior advocates and experienced practitioners to voluntarily participate in training young lawyers at the Law Auditorium located in Chandigarh.
