The felicitation ceremony of Justice Prashant kumara and Justice KV Viswanathan took place recently. On the occasion CJI emphasized on the idea , that edition of new judges to supreme court bring freshness of ideas and continue the tradition
He also stated that the recommendation was sent in less than 72 hours to the central government, which shows th vibrance and enthusiasm of the collegium, which is committed to its task’s also made a point to acknowledge the role of central government as a stakeholder in the process.
Further during the felicitation speech CJI spoke about the cultural uniqueness an personal experience the new judges add in the apex court, he encouraged young lawyers to draw inspiration from new appointments and follow through.
Apart from the collegium, the Supreme Court judges were extensively consulted beeper the appointments were made, which sets the process apart from the previous one.
